Brownies are something almost everyone likes. I bet these delicious Oreo Brownie Chocolates (Pralines) will get the same attention when served… probably even more ;) They are small, cute, and super chocolaty – so small nobody will notice you grabbed one from the plate with the sweets. At least that is what’s happening here at home. Gone in a hot second and never seen again. Well, unless you make another batch. ;)

Back in the day I was a big fan of brownies. I could have eaten them constantly. A brownie and a cup of coffee – make everything better! Nowadays, regular brownie recipes are usually too much for me. Even my own recipes. I still like to eat them, but most of the recipes are for big baking dishes and that is just too much for two people. I mean, I like to share my bakes but brownies… not so much. And eating a whole batch is just too much. ;)

Well… 25 of these little fellas is also not exactly a small amount. You got me! But in my defense – it is actually a small baking dish and they last a bit longer because they are covered in chocolate and that keeps them fresh. It means you don’t have to eat them all at once. Also a great gift for friends or family members. In this case, I am willing to share. Because they look cute and I want others to be able to enjoy them too. ;)

Coating the mini brownie pieces and decorating them with the mini Oreos takes a moment. But as soon as you cover the first ones with chocolate you will get the hang of it and the rest is much easier to do and probably done quicker. Thereafter, you just have to keep yourself together and avoid eating them while they are still drying. ;P An Almost impossible task, I know. Been there, done that.

    DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG

    1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a 7 inches square baking pan* with baking parchment, grease lightly, and set aside. Melt the butter and let it cool down a bit. Crumble the Oreo cookies and set them aside.

    2. Add the melted butter and sugar to a large bowl. Mix until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. In a second bowl mix the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. Add to the bowl with the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Add the chocolate chips and crumbled Oreos and fold them in. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan, smooth out the top, and bake for about 18-20 minutes. Check with a toothpick – the brownies are done when the toothpick comes out mostly clean. Some moist crumbs are fine. Remove from oven and let cool completely, then cut into 25 pieces.

    3. Melt the chocolate coating – if the chocolate sauce is too thick, add a little coconut oil and stir it in. Dip the brownies into the chocolate (cover at least the top and sides), let them drip off a bit, then place them on either a cooling rack* or a piece of baking parchment. Separate the Oreo cookies, remove the cream filling and then press a cookie on top of each chocolate while they are still warm and allow them to cool/dry. Store in an airtight container in a cool place.
