Have you ever had this problem? You want to prepare a certain dish but somehow you can’t get hold of all of the necessary ingredients? Not talking about fancy spices from India, West Africa, or something like that… those you can normally order online if you really need them ;) I am talking about simple sandwich bread rolls. I wanted to make a certain sandwich the other day and could not find the bread roll I needed for that anywhere. Well… this is still a baking blog here, so why not baking the stuff I need myself? So in case you need Hoagie Rolls and can’t find them anywhere – here is now a recipe you can use to bake them at home ;P
Mexican dishes and the Tex-Mex cuisine from the US found their way to Germany several years ago, but it is still sometimes difficult to get the right ingredients for various recipes. In the US, for example, you can get everything your heart desires. Pre-made enchilada sauce is something you can get in countless versions in supermarkets – ready for you to use in your favorite enchilada recipe. To be honest, I prefer making my own sauces and stuff like that, but having the option – just in case you need it one day when in a hurry – is something I like a lot ;) Well… if you want to make awesome enchiladas and can’t find ready-made sauce in the stores, here’s a recipe to help you easily: Homemade Enchilada Sauce. Only the best, of course! ;)
Sometimes there is no way to get around it… Baked Feta Pasta drove the internet wild some time ago. It took me a while to understand why… but I do now. A super simple dish that tastes really delicious. It’s the perfect meal to prepare when coming home from work and don’t want to spend much time in the kitchen. Just grab a block of feta, some tomatoes and you’re almost ready to go ;)
If you’re into Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, I am pretty sure you’ve come across Refried Beans. These twice-cooked/baked beans are part of many dishes, but also work great with some nachos as a snack for your next party or movie night… in case we are allowed to celebrate parties with other people ever again ;P
If you love Mexican cuisine, you’ve come to the right place. Today I got a very simple “recipe” for a spice mix used in many Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes: Taco Seasoning. Much better (and cheaper) than anything from the supermarket. I promise! ;)
A brand new year is approaching – it could be good to know what is going to happen, right? We are all a bit curious about what the next year might bring. Instead of asking a psychic or trying to read tea leaves, you can make some Fortune Cookies and let them decide what’s coming up… and since you are the one making them and creating the messages, you are the one deciding what’s gonna happen ;P
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
