Happy Cookie Friday! Once again. Today I got a cookie recipe that is from the other side of the globe (if you live in Germany like me). Anzac Cookies are popular cookies from Australia and New Zealand – and here in Germany pretty much unknown I guess. At least I’ve never seen them in any bakery or coffee shop around here. That doesn’t mean that the little fellas aren’t super tasty. I fell in love pretty much in an instant. Oats, coconut, and honey are a great combination! You should definitely give it a try ;)
For the past several years already, January turns into #Veganuary in many places all over the world. That’s the reason why you will find some more vegan recipes than usual here on this blog this month. Together with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte I am doing again the “Vegan Bake Together” this week. Every day of the week you’ll find a new vegan recipe here on the blog and over at Andrea’s blog. We are starting the week with something for breakfast – in my case some delicious Vegan Apple Pie Oatmeal with Granola. A great dish to start your day ;)
It’s time for another banana bread. Haven’t made one in a long time. At least two weeks ;) Today I got a delicious specimen with honey, oats, and pecans. This one is considered to be slightly “healthier” than other banana bread recipes I got here on the blog. No refined sugar and wholemeal spelt flour instead of regular a/p flour. Don’t worry… it still tastes good and not “healthy” ;P
I haven’t made cookies for the blog for quite some time now. I think we should change that right now. Well, guess what… I got a fresh batch of good-looking cookies today ;) Delicious Oatmeal Maple Pecan Cookies fresh from the oven. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. As if it was “Cookie Friday” once again. Feel free to grab one ;)
If you want to eat a bit healthier, you should include foods in your diet on a regular basis that are good for your body. Stuff that contains lots of vitamins and minerals and stuff that’s good for your digestive system. A happy stomach and digestive system equals a happy (hopefully healthy) body ;) This means you should eat lots of fruits and veggies but also legumes and oats, for example. Even though oatmeal can be good for your body, these cookies are not quite a “healthy” snack I’d say. But they are better than most cookies from the supermarket though. Not only flavorwise :P
Having a nice recipe for a quick bread at hand can never hurt. When the bakery around the corner is closed, for example, when a surprise visitor announces himself/herself on the weekend or when you just do not want to leave the house – in these moments a simple Irish Spelt Soda Bread is perfect. Not even ten minutes of work and less than an hour in the oven. All the time you need to get a delicious smelling bread out of your oven ;)
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
