Anyone who has ever tasted Dulce de leche will agree that it’s perfect for filling sandwich cookies. The best example here, are Alfajores with Dulce de leche. Perfection in miniature. We love the caramel cream together with the crumbly cookie – it’s such a nice and sweet treat! In case you never tried… it’s about time! ;)
A visit to a German Christmas market without candied almonds would only be half as good, right? We always end up with a small bag of them in our pockets. In recent years, however, variations of classic candied almonds have become increasingly popular. Almonds that have been given an extra layer, like these delicious Candied Almonds with Kinder Chocolate. Absolute delicacies! If you like Kinder Chocolate, you’re sure to love these candied and coated almonds! I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like this sweet treat. ;P
Every celebration needs a big cake – or several small cakes. Something delicious and indulging. We are baking Christmas cookies pretty much every year, and some of them we do over and over again. The classics, you could say. We have a bunch of Christmas cookies we do constantly with the same old recipe that has been used for decades. But we also got cookies that are based on classics, but kind of »reinterpreted« from time to time. These Biscoff Thumbprint Cookies aka. Engelsaugen, for example. They are based on a classic recipe for Engelsaugen with jam filling, but here the filing is delicious Biscoff spread. So good!
Chocolate and caramel are always a good combination. The inventors of Rolo – those small round chocolate pralines with a caramel filling – probably thought so too. These and other chocolates/pralines of this type can be eaten as they are, or they can be used in bakes and desserts. Like I did here, in my Rolo (Caramel) Chocolate Cookies. Why just eat a praline when you can eat the praline with a cookie around it ;P
For a long time, I was reluctant to bake a delicious tart like this one here. I was always a bit afraid of making something like this Pear Tarte Tatin or other tarts of this category. Super tasty, extremely decorative, but also made with caramel… which can be tricky sometimes. I was really a bit nervous when making a Tarte Tatin for the first time. But once you’ve baked your first one, it’s all not that bad. The preparation is actually quite simple ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
