I’ve baked quite a few cookies in my life, but these Yogurette Buttermilk Lemon Cookies are really something special. Sweet, lemony, and surprisingly refreshing – just perfect for a hot summer’s day! I don’t usually recommend storing cookies in the fridge, but it definitely makes sense here to turn them into something even more refreshing ;P
Strawberries are only in season in early summer here. Unfortunately. Fortunately, you can enjoy these little red fellas as jam all year round. It’s not the same as fresh fruits, of course, but still something ;P Jam on bread is almost boring, which is why I also like to use strawberry jam for cookies, for example. Sometimes as a fruity layer between two cookies, or as a filling, like in these Strawberry Lemon Crinkle Cookies. So good! Everybody loves them here.
Cookies are always a great snack when you’re craving something sweet, no matter if it is summer or winter. At the height of summer, however, those extra large, chocolate and sugar-loaded are not always the best option. These small, delicious Lemon Drop Cookies are much better in this case (I think). Not too big, not too sweet, and refreshingly lemony… Just perfect for hot summer days ;)
I love pasta – so a big bowl of noodles is something I absolutely gravitate to… even though I should avoid carbs. But what can you do when something is so delicious? It’s no different with these Fettuccine al Limone with Green Asparagus. So good! This dish is particular popular here in spring and beginning of summer when asparagus is available from local farms. Local and seasonal is always the best, right?! ;)
I’m a big fan of easy-peasy lemon cakes and also a big fan of poppy seed cakes – so why not bring the two together? This easy Lemon Poppy Seed Cake is a combination of these great cakes and the result is even better ;P Delicious, moist (!) and one of the best cakes you can bake. Period. Point blank ;P
A few extra vitamins can never hurt in winter. Many people do this with an apple between meals or a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast, but I think a delicious Polenta Blood Orange Upside-Down Cake is much better for this purpose. You won’t have it on the table quite as quickly as a glass of orange juice, but it looks a lot better, doesn’t it? ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
