Pretzel Chocolate Caramel Pecan Snack

    Today’s recipe had to be done quickly. There is not always enough time for a whole afternoon to bake or cook. Noo. Even though you are desperately looking for something sweet ;) Well… the quickest solution in this case: Homemade Pretzel Snacks with chocolate, caramel, and pecans!

    You probably experienced it at one point or another – the weekend is coming and you are craving for something sweet. Normally I would say “bake some cookies!” but sometimes even that is too much effort if your to-do-list for the weekend is too full. In that case, these pretzel snacks come in very handy. You need about 10 minutes to prepare them and then you can already enjoy your first bite. Make some more and you have a nice and easy to prepare a snack for a bunch of people.

    I put these little fellas into the “cookie category” even though they are not really cookies. I would not even call the recipe a real recipe. It’s basically only a DIY instruction that includes an oven. That’s it ;) I mean, it’s really just that: stack a rolo and pecan on top of a pretzel, warm it and then press it together to get a sandwich. Easy as counting to 3 :P The result, on the other hand, is awesome. The flavor combination is really nice. Sweet meets salty. One of my favorites!

    So if you are a fan of that kind of flavor combination, grab some pretzels, rolos, and pecans and heat up the oven… or if you live in a place where it is warm and sunny… just leave the stacks in the bright sun for some time and you will get the same result :P

    INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN

    20 salted pretzels
    20 Rolo candies (2 rolls)
    20 pecans

    (20 Stück)

    20 Salzbrezeln
    20 Rolos (2 Rollen)
    20 Pekannüsse

    DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG

    1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Place the salted pretzels on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment and top each pretzel with a Rolo candy. Place a pecan nut on top of each Rolo and place in the oven. Bake for 3-6 minutes or until the chocolate is soft. Check by pressing one pecan down – if the Rolo can be squeezed they are done. Take out of the oven and press each pecan down and the chocolate into the pretzel. Let cool down completely.

    1. Den Ofen auf 120°C vorheizen. Ein Blech mit Backpapier auslegen und die Brezeln darauf verteilen. Auf jede Brezel ein Rolo setzen und darauf dann eine Pekannuss. Vorsichtig in den Ofen schieben und für 3-6 Minuten backen. Die Schokolade der Rolos sollte weich geworden sein. Wenn man eine Pekannuss nach unten drückt, sollte das darunter liegende Rolo nachgeben und sich in die Brezel drücken lassen. Wenn das der Fall ist, alle Nüsse nach unten drücken und dann auf dem Blech abkühlen lassen.
