Back in the day, this kind of cheesecake was something you could always find at a children’s birthday party. Chocolate Cheesecake aka. Russischer Zupfkuchen is still very popular here in Germany. Everyone loves this cake, I dare to say. If only I wished we had this sugar-free version back then! Maybe I could have avoided getting Diabetes. Just kidding… I would have gotten it anyway. The amount of chocolate and gummy bears I ate over the years was enough to give two people diabetes I guess. Not the occasional piece of cheesecake ;P
I haven’t baked a cheesecake in a while. I know… how could that happen?! Is there a limit for a “cheesecake-free” time? Probably ;) Well, the suffering is ending with this delicious (and sugar-free/no sugar added) Blueberry Cheesecake. I really need to bake cakes like this one here more often. Nothing can beat this creamy beauty with that blueberry topping! Mmmm…!
The closer we get to Easter the less you can avoid chocolate Easter bunnies and chocolate Easter eggs in the stores. They are basically everywhere. As you might know – I am trying to avoid sugar wherever I can, so sweets with chocolate are not always the best option ;) Luckily, you can make some nice Easter sweets/snacks easily at home. These Easter Egg Energy Balls, for example. They are made without any white sugar (also vegan) and really delicious!
Happy Cookie Friday and (also) Happy Chinese New Year! Both happen on the same day this year. To honor both events I made some Chinese Almond Cookies today. They are not only delicious – these cookies are supposed to bring you luck. That’s what they say. I hope that’s true… after 2020 aka. “The year of the rat”, some luck would be nice for 2021 ;)
Today is World Diabetes Day – I guess serving you a sugar-free and low-carb cake today makes sense, right? ;) All out there that need to cut back on sugar or just want to reduce their sugar intake a bit, this delicious Apple Cake is the cake to make. Who needs that white devilish stuff if you can enjoy sweet stuff without it? ;P
Are you also sometimes too lazy to get bread for breakfast from the bakery in the morning? I always have to take the dog out on a walk in the morning, so I can always stop by the bakery, but I would prefer to stay in bed, actually ;) If you’re smart, you can avoid the early walk to a bakery or supermarket and prepare your breakfast – like these Chia Puddings – in advance so you don’t have to leave the house in the morning… It’s pretty easy actually. Meal prep is the “magic word” here.
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
