If you want to live a healthy lifestyle it’s always good to take a look at what you eat. If you want to eat better you should consider incorporating more legumes into your diet. A delicious summer salad like this White Jumbo Beans Salad is a good option here. If you cook the beans properly you won’t experience the “side effects” many people fear when eating beans… trust me ;P
You are expecting many guests and you want to serve a dessert that is as easy and not too complicated? How about a trifle? This Giant Summer Trifle with Cherries & Mango will feed a lot of people. I mean it. Only make it if you are expecting a lot of people, otherwise, you will have leftovers for sure. Even the biggest dessert fans will have a lot of work here and probably not be able to finish this trifle. Believe me… I tried ;P
Turkish cuisine lists almost 300 different types of Kofta. Small meatballs and dumplings which are served in many different ways. Many of them are made with different kinds of meat. But of course, they can also be made without meat and plant-based ingredients only. Like these small bulgur balls aka. Fellah Kofta (Köftesi) with Yogurt Cream. Delicious members of the Kofta “universe” that can easily compete with the meaty fellas everybody likes so much ;)
Summer and salad belong together like Bonnie and Clyde. When it’s hot outside it’s never a good idea to eat something super rich/heavy that will stay in your stomach for hours and will probably make you sweat (even more than you would do to the temperatures). Some veggies and salad are best on warm days. This Classic Tabouleh aka. Bulgur Salad is a perfect example – easy to prepare and very refreshing in summer. No “food coma” is gonna happen here ;)
I am not the biggest fan of soups, to be honest. In Germany, we even have a name for people like me based on a fairytale – “Suppenkasper”. The translation would be more or less a “soup clown”. Not very flattering ;P Well… it’s actually only a specific type of soups I don’t like. This delicious Salmorejo Cordobés, a cold Spanish tomato, and bread soup, I love very much. It’s the best thing to make and eat on a hot summer day. So refreshing!
Sometimes you need a little cocktail or long drink at the end of the day. Right? Whenever your day was stressful, you’re allowed to treat yourself. Not every evening, of course. That would make you an alcoholic ;P If you come home from work stressed out every evening you should perhaps consider changing jobs and not make cocktails every evening. If you do it only sometimes everything is fine. I guess. Now and then sipping on a little Frozen Watermelon Mojito with your bestie on the balcony? Absolutely OK, I think!
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
