How about a little refreshment in the form of a dessert? Sounds good, does it? With this lemon & buttermilk dessert in a glass, you get the body temperature certainly (*cough*) lowered by a minimum of one degree – provided, of course, it is well chilled in advance and then enjoyed directly from the fridge ;)
Zitrone & Buttermilch Dessert im Glas | Bake to the roots
You are expecting many guests and you want to serve a dessert that is as easy and not too complicated? How about a trifle? This Giant Summer Trifle with Cherries & Mango will feed a lot of people. I mean it. Only make it if you are expecting a lot of people, otherwise, you will have leftovers for sure. Even the biggest dessert fans will have a lot of work here and probably not be able to finish this trifle. Believe me… I tried ;P
Giant Summer Trifle with Cherries & Mango | Bake to the roots
There are loads of events and holidays throughout the year where you need deep-fried sweet stuff. Carnival or New Year’s Eve, for example. There is no way around it. It doesn’t matter what you throw into the hot oil as long as the result is nice and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and it’s covered with sugar. I do not encourage people to drink alcohol, but if you eat greasy stuff like that you can drink more ;P Well… these Drop Donuts with Cherry Compote have not been made for those situations. They are just a delicious snack you can enjoy all year round any time of the day (with or without alcohol) ;P
How about some plant-based dessert? This Vegan Dessert à la Tiramisù is a true highlight for every dinner… or in case you’re in the mood for something sweet any other time of the day. You can most certainly snack on one of these desserts for no reason at all. Nobody will judge you ;P
Christmas 2021 is over. If you found this recipe here via Google, next Christmas might just be around the corner again…. it doesn’t matter. These Panettone Trifles with Marsala Cherry Compote can be made before and after Christmas. I’d almost say they taste delicious in mid-summer too ;P In summer, however, it will probably be pretty hard to find panettone – this pastry is after, all quite seasonal and strongly linked to Christmas ;)
The cherry season is back in da house! Finally! ;) The little red fruits start popping up in supermarkets and farmer’s markets all over the city again. Currently not from local farmers though, but this will probably change soon. Can’t wait to get a big basket of cherries and just eat them as they are on a sunny day at the lake… childhood memories ;P
Oh well. These delicious Cream Puffs with Cherry Filling I made today can be made with fresh cherries but also work well with frozen cherries or the ones you can buy in glass jars. So no excuse to make them all year round ;P
Windbeutel mit Kirschen & Sahne | Bake to the roots
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
