You’re looking for some quick and easy snacks for the next game night or when you have guests over for a glass of wine? How about some simple Spinach & Feta Rolls? They are ready in no time and very easy to prepare. Skip the mini pizzas from the freezer – they are boring anyway. If you serve these little savory rolls, everybody will think you put in a lot of effort… but no. Nobody will know how easy they are to make ;P
Even though summer takes little breaks here and there – summertime is tomato season! If you planted some tomato plants on your balcony or in your own garden, you were probably able to harvest some tomatoes already. Our tomato plants have served us several tomatoes already in the past two weeks. Some of them ended up in this delicious Ombre Tomato Tart with Gorgonzola and Mascarpone. One of my favorite quick and easy treats in summer! ;)
Sometimes there is no time for cooking. Not even enough time for ordering something. When I’m in a hurry or just don’t want to do much, I often make sandwiches. They are done in no time, simple and easy. This Italian B.M.T. Sandwich is one of those easy dishes I like to prepare when I’m not in the mood for anything else ;P
After months of lockdown and not being able to meet friends and family, things are slowly changing again. Yay! You still have to be very careful, of course, but when every one of your friends and family is fully vaccinated, you could theoretically plan the next party ;) For that glorious moment, I baked a delicious Party Bread with Oven Cheese today. Crunchy little bread balls are arranged around a big bubbly oven cheese, ready for you to dip the bread into the cheese. So good! So good I probably should not invite any guests and eat everything myself? Hmmm… ;P
If you’ve been to the US you probably know this sandwich or even had one already – everybody else probably heard of it at least – the Philly Cheesesteak. Here in Germany, you can find them on many street food markets these days. If you have the opportunity you should try one of them. If there is no food market close by, you can always make them at home… with this recipe here. I think they will be pretty close to the original ones ;)
Do you have a garden by any chance? Maybe with some tomato plants? Are the first tomatoes ready to be eaten? Mid/end of July you should be able to harvest the first fruits I guess. Most of our tomatoes are still green because we have had a cold and rainy summer so far. The ones ready to harvest were not enough to make this cheesecake with tomato and fennel topping so far. But that could change in a couple of weeks I guess. There is hope ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
