What’s your favorite dessert when you need something quick and don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen? Right, a layered dessert. Well… at least that is my favorite thing to do ;) Like this one here with fresh strawberries, cookies, and müsli bars to give it the right amount of crunch!
If you need a quick and easy dessert for your dinner or any other occasion, a cake is probably not the first thing that comes into your mind. They take a while to prepare, to bake, to cool down and probably to decorate. Luckily there are much easier ways to get something sweet on your plate… or in this case into your glass jars ;)
Pick your favorite fruits and berries – strawberries for example – crush some cookies and make a quick cream with mascarpone, heavy cream or if you like it a bit less “heavy” with some yogurt… and voilà you’re done! You can make only one or two or a lot more for a whole party – the work is pretty much the same. Another good thing – you can prepare those layered desserts some time in advance. They normally don’t mind sitting in the fridge for some time ;)
INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN
300g strawberries, diced
1 tbsp. vanilla liquor (optional)
1-2 tsp. sugar
80g biscuit cookies
20g Kölln Vollkorn-Haferfleks cereals
2 Kölln Müsli-Riegel Joghurt-Erdbeer, crumbled
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
2/3 cup (150g) mascarpone
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
4 strawberries for decorations
300g Erdbeeren, gewürfelt
1 EL Vanillelikör (optional)
1-2 TL Zucker
80g Dinkel Butterkekse
20g Kölln Vollkorn Haferfleks
2 Kölln Müsli-Riegel Joghurt-Erdbeer, zerkrümelt
2 EL Butter, geschmolzen
120ml Schlagsahne
150g Mascarpone
2 EL Milch
1 EL Zucker
4 Erdbeeren für die Dekoration
DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG
2. Add the biscuit cookies to a freezer bag and crush with a rolling pin or the back of a saucepan until you get fine crumbs. Mix with the cereals and crumbled müsli bars, and melted butter until well combined. Set aside.
3. Add the heavy cream to a tall bowl and whisk on high speed until stiff peaks form. Add the mascarpone, milk, and sugar to a bowl and mix until well combined. Fold in the whipped cream.
4. To assemble the dessert, divide the cookie/cereal/müsli bar crumbs between four glass jars (with lid if you want to take them to a picknick), then add the marinated strawberries and mascarpone cream on top. Decorate with a strawberry and serve or close with a lid and store in the fridge until you take them to a picknick.
