How about an easy peasy cake with mascarpone cream, fruit layer, berries, and cookie crunch? If you ask anyone around here the answer would always be “Yes!” or “Why am I still waiting for my slice of cake?” ;) As soon as I am done with a cake here, when all pictures are taken, someone is waiting with a plate and requesting something to munch. Happened here too, of course. Luckily I used less sugar than usual in this recipe so I can also enjoy a slice. Clever, right? ;P
Christmas 2021 is over. If you found this recipe here via Google, next Christmas might just be around the corner again…. it doesn’t matter. These Panettone Trifles with Marsala Cherry Compote can be made before and after Christmas. I’d almost say they taste delicious in mid-summer too ;P In summer, however, it will probably be pretty hard to find panettone – this pastry is after, all quite seasonal and strongly linked to Christmas ;)
Even though summer takes little breaks here and there – summertime is tomato season! If you planted some tomato plants on your balcony or in your own garden, you were probably able to harvest some tomatoes already. Our tomato plants have served us several tomatoes already in the past two weeks. Some of them ended up in this delicious Ombre Tomato Tart with Gorgonzola and Mascarpone. One of my favorite quick and easy treats in summer! ;)
Once again, it’s “Bake Together” time! That means the month is almost over and Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte are here with a new Bake Together topic. During spring and summer, it’s always easy to find something we can use in our bakes since there are many fresh fruits and berries available. It is strawberry season and today we decided to use them in desserts – something that does not need to be baked even though the event is called “Bake Together” ;) So what do you think about some delicious Strawberry Pretzel Trifles? Sounds good?!
Strawberry season has started here in Germany. Yay! Are you one of those persons that cannot say “no” to those little red fellas? Every time I go shopping somehow one of those little trays/baskets with strawberries ends up in my shopping cart. I do not even notice it until I am out of the supermarket ;P Well… there are worse things that could happen, right? If you have always some strawberries at home, you always have something nice to snack or in my case here you can prepare a nice Strawberry Tiramisu with Baileys Strawberries & Cream.
If you have been to the southern part of Germany or Austria, you probably seen or eaten this dish already: Kaiserschmarren or translated Emperor’s Mess. It is basically a big pancake that has been shredded, served with applesauce or compote. A nice dish any time of the day. For breakfast as well as for lunch or dinner… or anytime in between ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
