There are things that are already awesome on their own – for example cheesecake. I can’t resist a good cheesecake – no matter if its fluffy or creamy. Unfortunately all great ;) A good cherry pie is causing similar feelings – the cherry filling….mmmmm! I mean – who does not love a nice cherry pie?! Anyways – what happens if you combine both? Well…. magic happens :)
The last cherries will be gone soon from the farmer’s markets, in supermarkets, they are already hard to find… If you don’t act fast now, they are gone! Not for good, but at least until next summer :P So grab some, no matter if you eat them out of the paper bag or if you make a delicious cake or pie with it – the important thing is to get them and eat them in some way ;) The ones you get in glass jars stored in sugary water all year long in the supermarkets are just not the same. Make some Cherry Pie Filling at home to solve the problem ;)
It’s time for some cake! The last recipes have been more on the savory side of life – for example the green sandwiches or the flambéed goat cheese… that means it’s time for something sweet again! Don’t you think so too?! This delicious custard pie with cherries and streusel is perfect to bring your sweetness level back to normal :P
The time has come (again) – the next round of “Bake together – Die Backüberraschung” – the special event with Andrea from “Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte” and moi :) This month Andrea decided to go for the topic “summer pie”. I am really excited what she made – here you can find a pie with loads of berries – basically all I could find on the farmers market :P

The monthly baking event from “Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte” and “Moi”! ;) It’s hard to believe there is already 4 weeks between the first recipe and now! Well… let’s get to the new one, you probably noticed already – it’s rhubarb pie! :)
Have you ever tried a Pumpkin Pie? If you’re from the US the answer is most likely “yes”. Here in Germany, this kind of pie is not very common, but as a huge fan of American cuisine and baking I have, of course, made many pumpkin pies already and I have eaten probably even more ;P I like them a lot. Dunno if many Germans will feel the same when they try a Classic Pumpkin Pie like this one here for the first time… but I really think they are yummy. And if nobody wants a slice – more for me! ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
