So this will be my first non-baking recipe on here I think…! Or better said my first cooking recipe! Yay! ;)
It was not planned to be honest ;) I made this awesome bacon bourbon jam the other day and needed some pictures to show where you can actually use it. Of course the bacon jam is awesome by itself already, but showing some examples is never a bad idea… so I needed something to show off ;P
I thought – why not making some burgers? On my Instagram account I have some burger pictures from various visits to Berlin burger places – they always get a lot of likes – so there is definitely some interest in good burgers out there ;) Well….. now you can make them yourself at home! And take pictures and post them. Like me ;)
The burger buns are homemade (so there is still a bit of baking involved) – you should definitely make them yourself. So much better! Don’t go cheap on the meat. Go to your favorite butcher and ask for a good ground beef mix for burgers (or do it yourself with one of those machines) – this will make the burgers much better! Believe me. Then make some fries, grab a beer and enjoy :)
INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN
8 slider buns
600g ground beef (best ratio: 90% cow, 10% pig)
salt, pepper
8 slices of bacon
8 small slices of cheddar
lettuce leaves
bacon jam
Optional:
caramelized onions
8 Slider Brötchen
600g Hackfleisch (Bestes Verhältnis: 90% Rind 10% Schwein)
Salz, Pfeffer
8 Scheiben Bacon
8 kleine Scheiben Cheddar Käse
Salatblätter
Bacon Jam
Optional:
karamellisierte Zwiebeln
DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG
2. Heat up your BBQ or if you don’t have one, heat up a large pan. In a bowl season the ground beef with salt and pepper (not much needed actually). Form 8 small meat patties and set aside. Grill or fry the burgers and bacon to your liking (I prefer medium). Shortly before assembling the burgers, place a slice of cheese on each burger, so it can melt a bit.
3. Place the burger buns as well on the BBQ or pan with the edge of the cut down, so they can brown a bit.
4. Place the bottom parts of the buns on a plate or wooden board and spread some of the bacon jam on top. Garnish with some lettuce and place the burger with the cheese on top. Add bacon and some more of the bacon jam on top and finish with the upper part of the burger bun. Have a feast!
Guten Appetit!
