Homemade burger buns are better than the ones you can buy in a store, right? Yes. Making burger buns at home is complicated and takes a lot of time and effort, right? NOPE.
These buns here are made in less than an hour – and the time you’re actually working is much less. So there is no excuse from now on not to make burger buns at home if you’re having a BBQ with friends! Not for me and definitely not for you! ;P
The buns have a fluffy texture and are bit soft on the outside – perfect for a burger, so you can squeeze everything together and put it in your mouth at once ;)
I made 8 slider-sized buns with this recipe – you should get 4 large buns out of it or 5-6 medium sized buns. Here you can find the recipe for the cheeseburger sliders I used these buns. They were delicious! Especially with that bacon jam!
INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN
1 tbsp. active dry yeast
1/2 cup (120ml) warm water
3 tsp. olive oil
3 tsp. sugar
1 small egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2-2 cups (200g-260g) all-purpose flour
sesame seeds for sprinkling
1 EL (1 Pkg.) Trockenhefe
120ml warmes Wasser
3 TL Olivenöl
3 TL Zucker
1 kleines Ei
1/2 TL Salz
200g-260g Mehl (Type 405)
Sesam Samen zum Bestreuen

DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG
2. Add egg, salt and about 1 1/2 cups of the flour – add more if the dough is too wet. Knead until you get a nice soft smooth dough for about 5 minutes (it’s best to do it with your hands). Cut into 8 equal pieces, form balls and place them on the baking sheet with enough space in between. Cover and let rest for about 15 minutes.
3. Brush the rolls with some water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in the oven for 10-12 Minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool down completely on a wire rack.
