Swabian Käsespätzle – Ze German Mac ‘n’ Cheese

Since the pandemic hit, I started cooking more and post more cooking recipes on here – and it seems you like them looking at the feedback I get on social media ;) Thanks for that! I think I have a good balance between sweet and savory now. So… how about another one of my favorite childhood dishes? Have you ever tried Swabian Käsespätzle? The German version of Mac’n’Cheese… soo good ;)

Sausage Meatball Subs with Tomato Sauce, Pesto, and Mozzarella

It’s “National Meatball Day” in the United States today! Yes, something like that really exists. There is a lot you can say about the States, stuff you might like, and stuff you hate, but if a country has a special holiday for meatballs… it can’t be all bad, right?! ;) Just kidding – it’s “Meatball Day” and you guessed right – I made Sausage Meatball Subs with tomato sauce, pesto, and last but not least… some delicious melted mozzarella! Probably not a healthy or light lunch option, but who cares… right? It’s really good! ;)

How about a little snack? If your answer is „yes“, I might have something for you. Delicious Deep-fried Mac ‘n’ Cheese Balls. Have you ever tried? If not, it’s about time! These little balls of joy are soooo good ;) Like everything made in a deep-fryer. Unfortunately. You should not have stuff like that too often, but once in a while is ok. Just don’t overdo it. You heard it from me – the biggest fan of deep-fried food ;P

There’s nothing more American than Mac ‘n’ Cheese, right? Well… yes, ok – hamburgers and cheeseburgers are, of course, better known as American food and more widespread, but those are actually only “half-american” I would say. Theoretically, they saw the light of day in Hamburg, Germany, and then found their way to the US at some point… now I’ll probably get into a lot of trouble from die-hard hamburger fans, who deny that Hamburgers are involved in the creation of hamburgers ;P Anyway. No matter if the noodles are in the first place or on the tenth place – my Macaroni and Cheese with Panko Topping definitely deserve a position among the first spots.

German “Handbrot” with Bacon and Cheese – Christmas Market Classic

It‘s time for another „Bake Together – The Baking Surprise“ with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte! This one here should have been our „November Bake Together“ but we thought we move the date to the beginning of December. First of all, because of the theme – which is „favorite food from the Christmas market“ and second of all, because we normally do not bake anything at the end of December between Christmas and New Year. So postponing several days to start In December seemed logical ;) Well. Anyway. It’s all about Christmas markets today and that’s why I made a typical bake called „Handbrot mit Käse und Speck“ aka. Filled bread with bacon and cheese ;)
