It doesn’t take much to make someone happy. We think these Mini Ladyfingers Tiramisu Cakes are just perfect for moments like that. Uncomplicated and easy to prepare and really delicious – what more could you want? These little treats are definitely a good idea for everyone that likes tiramisu. We immediately fell in love with these little desserts!

Most people probably serve their tiramisu in a large bowl or casserole dish. You scoop out a portion onto a plate, and then you inhale the dessert as quickly as possible, so nobody has the opportunity to steal it. ;P At least that’s how it has always been in our family – especially when my brother was present. If you were not quick enough, a big spoon would come from out of nowhere and steal something from your plate. I am sure that’s similar in other families. Someone always tries to steal desserts. ;P
This would not work quite as well here. These little tiramisu cakes are made for one person and one person only. By making them in the little paper liners, you can take them into your hands and keep them safe from greedy neighbors. No spoon that can scoop out something or steal something. ;P

All joking aside – we love these little individual cakes. They are super practical, and also look good too, if we’re honest. Right?! ;) When beautifully decorated (you can probably do better than me), these little cakes are simply an eye-catcher. Not just for Valentine’s Day. You can also decorate them without the chocolate hearts. A few simple sugar pearls will do just as well so they are less »love-themed«.
The little cakes are best when they have had a little time to rest. This gives the liquid in which you have dipped the ladyfingers enough time to soften the cakes a bit. Same for the cream you use to decorate the little cakes – the moisture can soften the ladyfingers as well, if you give it some time. It’s the same with a regular tiramisu – that one also tastes better, when the texture is perfect (soft). This is the reason I recommend decorating the dessert with fresh fruit or berries right before serving. That’s how everything stays fresh and good-looking.

If you don’t want to use fresh fruit or berries, you can, of course, also use cocoa and/or some grated chocolate for decorations. If you want to get even closer to the original dessert, you can add some espresso or Marsala/Amaretto to the soaking liquid. Feel free to change the recipe to your liking. ;)
For all those who need a dessert or a small gift for Valentine’s Day (or any other occasion) – we got more! Small Heart Sugar Cookies are a lovely gift – whether you want to give something to close friends, family, or the nice neighbor on the third floor of your apartment complex. A little gift is always appreciated. You can show your affection or appreciation even better with a large Heart Chocolate Cake, I think. To be honest – that one, I would only make for someone I reeeeaally like. ;P
INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN
(4 servings)
For the cream:
5 oz. (140g) mascarpone
1 tsp. confectioners’ sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla bean paste*
1/4 tsp. cream stiffener*
some heavy cream (optional)
For the mini tiramisu:
8 ladyfingers*
1/4 cup (60ml) oat milk or regular milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla bean paste*
some cocoa powder for dusting
4 muffin paper liners*
For the decoration:
fresh strawberries for decoration
freeze-dried strawberries* for the decoration
some chocolate hearts for the decoration
(4 Personen)
Für die Creme:
140g Mascarpone
1 TL Puderzucker
1/2 TL Vanille Paste*
1/4 TL Sahnesteif*
etwas Sahne (optional)
Für die Mini Törtchen:
8 Löffelbiskuit*
60ml Haferdrink oder Milch
1/4 TL Vanille Paste*
etwas Kakaopulver zum Bestäuben
4 Muffin Papierförmchen*
Für die Dekoration:
frische Erdbeeren für die Dekoration
gefriergetrocknete Erdbeeren* für die Dekoration
einige Schokoladenherzen für die Dekoration

DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG
1. Add the mascarpone, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla bean paste, and cream stiffener to a bowl and mix well – either by hand with a whisk or with an electric hand mixer. If the cream seems too thick, add a bit of heavy cream and stir in. Fill the cream into a piping bag with a rose nozzle*. Pipe some cream onto the bottom sides of the ladyfingers (the ones without sugar), dust the cream with some cocoa powder and then press two ladyfingers together on the sides with cream to create little sandwiches.
2. Mix the oat milk (or regular milk) with the vanilla bean paste in a small, shallow dish. Roll the ladyfinger sandwiches in the milk so they can soak up some liquid and soften, then dust them with some cocoa powder and place them in muffin paper liners.
3. Pipe the remaining cream onto the ladyfingers in a wavy pattern and decorate with fresh strawberries, some crushed (freeze-dried) strawberries, and/or chocolate hearts to your liking. If you need/want to wait some time before serving, I recommend adding the strawberries last, right before serving so they stay nice and fresh.
