I assume you all know what a cobbler is, right? If not… it is about time you get to know it ;) Cobblers are delicious sweet treats with a layer of fruit (compote) and a layer of crunchy dough on top… served with some ice cream one of my favorite deserts! This one here is a (Wholemeal) Damson Plum & Apple Cobbler – your new favorite treat. Pretty sure about that! ;)
Strawberry season has started here in Germany. Yay! Are you one of those persons that cannot say “no” to those little red fellas? Every time I go shopping somehow one of those little trays/baskets with strawberries ends up in my shopping cart. I do not even notice it until I am out of the supermarket ;P Well… there are worse things that could happen, right? If you have always some strawberries at home, you always have something nice to snack or in my case here you can prepare a nice Strawberry Tiramisu with Baileys Strawberries & Cream.
I could not believe it… it’s rhubarb time again!? Yay!!!?! Or at least it seems it rhubarb season already. I saw it the other day in the supermarket and had to buy several of those green and red stalks. I am a rhubarb addict! Well… as you can see I made something with it: Rhubarb Strawberry Tiramisu. It’s so good ;)
Maybe you know these kinds of situations too… when you listen to a certain song or you smell a certain food or perfume you get instantly transported in your mind to a memory where this song or smell played an important role or is somehow connected with a (more or less) important memory. I have for example a compilation of songs I call “Pet Sematary Songs”. When I was a child I was reading Steven King books like crazy and one of them was “Pet Sematary” – back then I listened to only a few CDs with the same songs over and over. Nowadays when I hear these songs I am immediately back in my old bedroom, lying on the bed and reading this book. Every single time I listen to one of those songs ;) It’s quite a strong connection. How are these Churros with Chocolate Sauce connected to that you may ask? Well…. ;)
Have you already decided what to cook and bake for Christmas this year? Are you more into classic dishes or can it be modern and “experimental? We haven’t decided on the main courses yet this year, but the dessert has been chosen already: Baked Apples with Marzipan & Pecans will be served on one of the Christmas holiday days ;)
Several days ago I published a recipe for delicious fudgy brownies here. Most of them were gone in a split second after I made the pictures – some I could save and make another sweet treat I am willing to share with you. To actually share this one here is hard, so prepare for a fight in case someone wants more :P Say hello to my über delicious black forest brownie layer dessert! So good!
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer. I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;) Read more...
