I might sound like a broken radio, but fall and winter are the season for stews in our house! I love me a bubbling pot or hot stew on the stove on a cold and rainy fall day. Something delicious to fill you up good ;P This one here is an exceptionally delicious stew we love to make over and over again – a White Bean Stew with Salsiccia (aka. Italian Sausage). Filling, tasty, and easy to prepare – what’s not to love about that?
We love simple pasta dishes – especially the ones made in a casserole dish ;) You can find those dishes in pretty much every international cuisine. Of course, not always prepared the same way ;) In Greece, for example, they have this absolutely awesome Greek Pasta Bake aka. Pastitsio which not only looks great but also tastes excellent. It might look like a lot of work, but honestly, it’s not that complicated ;)
Summer is the time for barbecue! Right? However, even in summer, you can have rainy days too. That means you might not always be able to grill something outside in your backyard. If you got an electric grill that’s actually not a problem – just move your BBQ party into the house. These delicious Kofta Skewers with Tomato Salad can be grilled outside or inside – it does not really matter. They will turn out great no matter what type of grill you are going to use… a frying pan is actually also fine here ;)
If you need something to eat quickly, a simple Fried Rice with Eggs & Veggies might be the perfect dish for you. When all ingredients are available in your kitchen (including the cooked and cooled rice) you should have something ready in less than 30 minutes. We really love to make fried rice here because it’s so easy to do, and it always tastes really delicious!
When you don’t feel like cooking, something made in a casserole dish is always something you can still whip up with minimal effort ;) You throw everything into the casserole dish, add a good amount of cheese on top and then let the oven do all the work. If you want to serve a Creamy Tortellini & Chicken Gratin like this one, you’ll have to do a few more steps when preparing it, but it’s not that much tbh. Actually, still very easy to do ;P
Spain has been the most popular holiday destination for Germans in the last decade I think (if you exclude Germany itself from the list). The preference for Spain as a vacation destination is probably not only due to the beautiful weather they got down there. The delicious food in Spain will certainly also play a role here. I am not a beach vacationer. I prefer to stroll through a city and eat my way through all the regional specialties. One of my favorite Spanish dishes is definitely Huevos Rotos aka. Broken Eggs. The perfect dish for a hot Spanish night out ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
