Today I got another 2-in-1 recipe for you. Do different kinds of cookies combined to create one delicious treat! Chocolate cookies and Oreo cookies say hi to each other and end up being Oreo Chocolate Cookies. Sounds good, right?! ;)

This “Frankencookie” happened by accident actually. I have a cabinet with food over my workspace. It’s packed and when I open it there are things falling out sometimes – depending on who is stacking it… the day I was making a batch of Cookie Friday cookies, I was looking for ingredients to add to my basic cookie dough and guess what… a package of Oreo cookies fell right into my hand when I opened the cabinet. That was a sign!! ;)
So Oreo cookies ended up in my batch of chocolate cookies and on top of them. The result is delicious! I mean what can go wrong if you combine two delicious things? The result turns into something bad? Of course not! Double deliciousness ;)

I used these very thin Oreos you might know. The ones with only a tiny amount of filling. I have the “normal” ones too in my cabinets, but those I rather eat with a glass of milk ;) The recipe should work with the regular Oreos as well if you can’t get hold of the thin ones. The result may look a bit chunkier, but that’s ok ;)
INGREDIENTS / ZUTATEN
1/2 cup (120g) butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
1/4 cup (50g) sugar
1 large egg
1 1/3 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3.5 oz. (100g) Oreo cookies, crushed
3.5 oz. (100g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
120g sehr weiche Butter
150g brauner Zucker
50g Zucker
1 Ei (L)
180g Mehl (Type 405)
1/2 TL Natron
1/4 TL Salz
100g Oreo Cookies
100g Schokoladendrops (Zartbitter)

DIRECTIONS / ZUBEREITUNG
2. Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with baking parchment. Use a cookie scoop or two tablespoons and place dough balls (about 2 tbsp. each) with enough space (about 1.5 in/4cm) on the baking sheet and bake for about 12 minutes. The edges of the cookies should be firm, but the center should still be a bit soft. Take out of the oven and let cool down on the baking sheet for some time, then transfer to a wire rack and let cool down completely.

Followed the recipe to the T and loved it! Great cookies. A bit overkill for some, maybe, but that’s the point with the Oreos :D
