Are you a gardener? We planted kohlrabi on our terrace for the first time this year – with great success, I have to say! We were able to prepare several dishes with the kohlrabi we harvested, including this delicious Thai Style Kohlrabi Salad. Super easy to prepare and on a hot summer day a great salad or side dish to serve on a BBQ. If you have never used kohlrabi for a salad you should definitely change that immediately. It’s really good for that ;)

Summer and salad belong together like Bonnie and Clyde. When it’s hot outside it’s never a good idea to eat something super rich/heavy that will stay in your stomach for hours and will probably make you sweat (even more than you would do to the temperatures). Some veggies and salad are best on warm days. This Classic Tabouleh aka. Bulgur Salad is a perfect example – easy to prepare and very refreshing in summer. No “food coma” is gonna happen here ;)
I am not the biggest fan of soups, to be honest. In Germany, we even have a name for people like me based on a fairytale – »Suppenkasper«. The translation would be more or less a »soup clown«. Not very flattering. ;P Well… it’s actually only a specific type of soups I don’t like. This delicious Salmorejo Cordobés, a cold Spanish tomato, and bread soup, I love very much. It’s the best thing to make and eat on a hot summer day. So refreshing!
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
