Today is Black Friday – many love this shopping day after Thanksgiving, some hate it. A lot ;) Well… for me it’s Cookie Friday. That’s my jam :P We could mix those two days together and just celebrate “Black Cookie Friday”! You do not have to shop laptops or other gadgets, just bake… these delicious black Baileys Chocolate Sandwich Cookies. Handsome little fellas – not only nice for Christmas.
It’s time for Christmas cookies – you probably started already baking your regular batches of Christmas cookies, right? Like we all do… to switch up things from time to time I like to adapt recipes here and there so I do not make the same stuff all the time ;) That’s why I have a vegan recipe today – my “veganized” classic Vanilla Crescents – which turned out pretty damn good I have to say ;))
These Christmas cookies today are something my grandma would have never made. Not because she did not like Vegan Hazelnut Christmas Cookies – she did not know what vegan means. Back Back then, when she was still with us, she did not know anybody living on a vegan diet (yes – that was quite a while ago). Neither did I ;) Well… things change and many things that were not vegan back then are vegan now. Including Christmas cookies like these here. Not a big deal anymore. Baking does not always require products from animals…
One last cookie recipe for Cookie Friday before Christmas! It’s about time to get everything done and ready for the holidays, right? These Cinnamon Spice Stars are quick and easy to prepare – so if you need something last minute, these little stars are definitely something you could do. If you like the cinnamon flavor, you can make them actually all year round. They are not specifically for Christmas. Just sayin’! ;)
What would you say if we have a little glass of liquor along with today’s Cookie Friday cookies? Can’t hurt, right?! I mean… the weekend almost started. Come on! ;) Maybe some liquor in the cookies as well? That would be even better. Luckily I am a forward-thinking baker and got that covered already. These little Chocolate Snowballs got some Baileys* inside ;)
Christmas is coming and I made a little list with my favorite German Christmas cookies. Everybody has his/her personal favorites – maybe because he/she had it in their childhood or just because they taste delicious. My list is a mix of recipes I know for quite some time and is circulating in my family for ages… and some are “new stuff” I discovered not too long ago. Because? ALL DELICIOUS! ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
