Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there! I know – there is actually no need for one “special day” for moms cause they should be celebrated all year round, but I guess it is not bad to have a day off from all duties and let others do the work, right? And a slice of cake and some flowers isn’t that bad either ;P
BUT to all children and partners – don’t let it be the only day of the year! You know they deserve more! :)
The time has come (again) – the next round of “Bake together – Die Backüberraschung” – the special event with Andrea from “Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte” and moi :) This month Andrea decided to go for the topic “summer pie”. I am really excited what she made – here you can find a pie with loads of berries – basically all I could find on the farmers market :P
Denmark has a lot of sweet bakes to offer. Anyone who has ever been there for some time will surely be able to confirm this statement. We’ve been to Copenhagen several times and love the city, the people, and the food, of course. If you’ve never tried a Danish Christianshavner Tærte, you should change that as soon as possible! You don’t have the budget to go to Copenhagen? Well, what about baking some at home and enjoying them on the balcony? ;P
Some of you might wonder, why do I post a recipe on a Saturday? There are Cookies on Friday and then something again on Monday, but Saturday…? Well – everything is different today for some very special reason…. ;) Starting today there will be a new monthly event here on the blog called »Bake Together – The Baking Surprise«! Done by/with »Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte« and »Bake to the roots«. Yay!
So what could this mean? ;) Maybe I should tell you a little story first – don’t worry, I will not start with Adam and Eve. It is more like – once upon a time there was…. just kidding ;)
I know I know – it is Sunday AND Easter – all you want to see now is probably some cake! ;) Unfortunately you have to go somewhere else for cake today… I have only something cheesy savory – and a little report about a nice blogger event at Kochhaus :)
What can I say – fresh strawberries are all over the place right now and if you are not making something delicious with these “nuts” (yes nuts – not berries) you are missing out on something really great! So many things you can do… :)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
