Have you ever cooked a whole cauliflower in the oven? In one piece? It’s a super easy preparation method you really can’t go wrong with…. well, except, of course, if you leave it in the oven too long so it burns instead of being roasted ;) If you stick to the cooking times of the recipe and keep an eye on it every now and then you will not have any problems. Your Harissa Roasted Cauliflower with Hummus will turn out perfect. It’s actually one of our favorite dinner recipes because it’s so easy to make and, of course, very delicious ;)
Do you like red beets? Have you ever tried to eat the leaves? Unfortunately, supermarkets sell beets normally without any leaves. They wilt quite fast while the beets themselves are still good for days or even weeks. If you go to a farmer’s market you might be lucky, but even there the leaves are off most of the time. Well… if you are lucky one day you might want to try this recipe here – Steamed Red Beet Leaves with Garlic & Pine Nuts. So good!
The BBQ season is upon us. Yay! Some die-hards never stopped grilling and treat themselves to some grilled meat, sausages, and veggies even in the depths of winter on the terrace or balcony. We are quite “seasonally” when it comes to BBQ. If you can not sit comfortably together outdoors we are not doing it. No mam ;P A delicious salad like this Simple & Easy Red Beet Salad, however, is something we like to prepare all year round. No need to fire up a grill for that. A stove (or oven), but not a grill ;P
A few years ago, hummus found its way from specialty stores into our “regular” supermarkets. I’m not really surprised this happened – this dip is super tasty and also very versatile. Nowadays you can find all kinds of hummus in stores. The classic hummus with chickpeas and tahini has got some competition. Here, for example, from hummus made with red beets. That does not look only really good, it also tastes extremely delicious ;)
It’s time for another “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise”! Yay! Last month Andrea (Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte) and I skipped our regular baking event. Since we are posting our recipes always on the last weekend of the month, December is always off the charts because of Christmas and New Years Eve. Too many other things on our plates :P But a little break is never wrong. Gives you new energy for new tasks. This time we decided to work with some veggies for a change. That’s why this month we made “beetroot” our topic. And as you can see I made a veggies pie with red beet. Mmmm…!
Red beets are a good source in fall to get an extra portion of vitamins and minerals. Red beets are full of that! To include all of this in your diet, you can cook the beets and serve it as a side dish or make a nice salad with it… oooooor you use them to bake a nice Red Beet Cake! Probably something new for some of you out there, but it’s definitely something you should try!
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
