This delicious pie is a sweet and savory temptation! Anyone who has ever tasted an Atlantic Beach Pie will definitely agree with me here. A creamy, lemony filling, a mountain of whipped cream, and a hint of salt somewhere hidden. If you haven’t tried this pie before, you should get all the ingredients here quickly and then get started ;)
What can I say – fresh strawberries are all over the place right now and if you are not making something delicious with these “nuts” (yes nuts – not berries) you are missing out on something really great! So many things you can do… :)
This is going to be the last bake with rhubarb for this year – the season is over. Can you see the tears running down my face? Probably not since you are staring at a computer screen :P But there are… well at least one tiny one in the corner of my eye :.(
Pies are loved all over the world – here in Germany as well. Weird, though, we do not have a specific translation for that English word. Translators would translate to »Kuchen«, »Torte«, or »Pastete« – all of these terms are not 100% fitting. The closest here would be »Kuchen« – so this Balsamic Cherry Pie is called »Balsamico Kirschkuchen« in German. Well… the closest you can get to the original meaning ;P
There are cakes and then there are pies. In Germany, we are not really putting those two types of bakes in different categories. Here it’s all cake. Means this »Old-fashioned« Apple Pie would also be called a cake. Makes it easier sometimes, but also more difficult when you want to explain the differences. ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
