Summer is the perfect time for galettes. They are super easy to prepare and with all the fruits and berries in summer you got so many options. This one here is made with loads of fresh cherries and to make it look fun, it got the shape of a little star. Something different for a change ;) I could have also made a rectangle, but a star just looks better in this case ;P
Cheesecake and cherries are always a good combination – especially in summer when you can get fresh cherries from farmers close by at the local farmer’s market. But even in winter, you can bake this Cottage Cheese Cheesecake with Cherries, if you want. You just have to use canned cherries or frozen ones from the store (you can also freeze them easily yourself). Fortunately, cherries can be stored for quite a while, and using those cherries in a bake like this one here is absolutely fine ;)
When the cherry season starts with locally grown cherries at the markets there is only one way to celebrate this event: baking some Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies with Cherries. Loads of chocolate, a creamy cheesecake mixture plus some fresh cherries – a brilliant combination! Add a little dollop of whipped cream on top and you will not hear a word from me for about 10 minutes – well and probably half of the brownies will be gone… but that only happens if you leave me alone ;P
There are loads of events and holidays throughout the year where you need deep-fried sweet stuff. Carnival or New Year’s Eve, for example. There is no way around it. It doesn’t matter what you throw into the hot oil as long as the result is nice and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and it’s covered with sugar. I do not encourage people to drink alcohol, but if you eat greasy stuff like that you can drink more ;P Well… these Drop Donuts with Cherry Compote have not been made for those situations. They are just a delicious snack you can enjoy all year round any time of the day (with or without alcohol) ;P
Cheesecakes are very popular bakes I’d say. At least here in our kitchen and among friends and family. As soon as a cheesecake, like this one here, is on the table the room turns silent and everyone is handing you their plate to get a slice of it. I am not complaining about that. If everyone is happy and silent… why would I complain?! ;P Another great thing about this Extra Rich Cheesecake – it is sugar-free! Means I can have at least one slice! ;P
Christmas 2021 is over. If you found this recipe here via Google, next Christmas might just be around the corner again…. it doesn’t matter. These Panettone Trifles with Marsala Cherry Compote can be made before and after Christmas. I’d almost say they taste delicious in mid-summer too ;P In summer, however, it will probably be pretty hard to find panettone – this pastry is after, all quite seasonal and strongly linked to Christmas ;)
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
