Whenever cherry season is upon us there is only one question to answer – what will we do first with these little red fellas? If you just snack on them, they are gone in an instant ;P That’s why we normally do something like a compote first. This can be used in various bakes and desserts. This year I decided to make these delicious Cherry Cheesecake Brownies as my first seasonal bake with cherries. It’s basically just another way to use cherry compote in a bake ;P
»More is more, and less is a bore« – something Iris Apfel said once. I could not agree more looking at this cake here ;) I am pretty sure she would like this Retro Buttercream Layer Cake here. It looks like it’s from the past, decorated so much it almost tips over. If you look at old cook books you will definitely find stuff like that – with even more decorations. There is actually a lot of empty space on this cake… should I have used more buttercream? ;P
Dunno how you feel about it, but I really love cakes with cherries. So good! Unfortunately, those little red fellas are not available all year round. At least not if you want to get them from a local farmer, for example. But… that does not mean you can’t make this delicious Easy Cheesecake with Cherries all year round. Luckily, this cake works perfect with frozen cherries… and those are available all year round if you prepared some during summer. Means cherry cakes all year round. I could not think of a better way to celebrate the hopefully soon coming summer ;P
