Breakfast is the most important meal of the day they say. Well… in our house, it’s actually dinner and not breakfast ;P

We only have an extensive breakfast on the weekend or when there is a holiday or something like that. Delicious Banoffee Chocolate Pancakes like these here are rather the exception for us…. unfortunately, I have to say. These pancakes are incredibly fluffy and delicious. If you are not as lazy as we are, you can make them, theoretically, every day of the week. They are actually done in no time. Easy peasy pancakes ;P

What can I say… it’s still “Banana Bread Season”! Just another (somewhat less obvious) way to say we are currently still having a global pandemic ;) When life gives you lemons, you should make a cocktail with lemon and vodka… or in our case here, if you got overripe bananas, make banana bread! I saw so much banana bread in the last two years – let’s do a slightly healthier version of it. Shall we? A banana bread made with wholemeal flour, raw cane sugar, and oats. Sounds good, right?! ;)

I made a classic German cake today – a cake that is quite popular here in Germany: German Mole Cake with Bananas. Most people here probably know this cake from the supermarket where you can find it in the aisle with baking ingredients… as a box cake mix ;) Well. Nothing we are using here, so this one is made from scratch, of course. And much better than the one from the box I have to add ;P

Probably just a clickbait headline to get this recipe on the first page of the Google search… well – yes and no. Of course, I want people to find this recipe but it is also the best Bananas Foster Cheesecake ever! By far! Really. Tears were running down my face when I had my first bite… and they were happy tears, not the sad ones ;P

Germany’s holiday lockdown is supposed to last until next week – let’s hope that’s the end of it and we can slowly go back to a more normal life. Probably not gonna happen if you look at the numbers, but some can hope, right? Well… lockdown means more people are cooking and baking – which leads more people to food blogs. At least that is something good (for me) ;) No – honestly – people finally spend some more time in the kitchen preparing meals and bake bread or cake instead of just ordering food. I think that is something good. People should bake more. Much more. Even more banana bread (with cream cheese swirls) ;P

I don’t want to be the one telling you “I told you so…” – a new lockdown has just recently been announced for Germany… the social distancing rules getting more strict, some people started hoarding toilet paper again… let’s hope that flour and yeast are not disappearing this time or I will go crazy for sure ;P Well… just in case you need to stay home and want to bake again – I got a new recipe with bananas for you.
