This cake might look not very fancy, but it is definitely worth making! It is so damn delicious! The flavors from the orange and almonds are so good together! This Almond & Orange Cake is gone in no time every time I make it. ;) I wished that all loaf cakes were that good and delicious…
Easter is over – let’s get back to business ;) I hope you had a good time and you could spend some nice days with your family or friends – of course, only within the allowed limits and restrictions. Don’t forget those 6 feet distance at the dinner table ;) Easter was very quiet for us this year, but I was able to bake a few things… which none of them will end up on this blog here ;) This delicious (Keto) Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake here was made some time before Easter and did not survive until the weekend. Well… in case you still have problems organizing flour, you can try this cake here. No flour needed – almonds are used as a substitute here.
It’s Friday again and you know what this means: I’ve got cookies for you! Yay! Not for everybody though. It seems I got carried away when they were cooling down on the wire rack… not all of them made it to the photo shooting for the pictures you can see here. Some survived, so grab a cookie. First come, first serve ;)
Macaroons are something we always had for Christmas in many different versions at home – with hazelnuts, coconut flakes or almonds, with marzipan, chocolate and other “enhancements” ;) At some point, these little fellas were replaced on the Christmas-baking-to-do-list by other cookies, new ones that needed to be tested. This year I finally made some macaroons again – almond macaroons. A very good decision ;)
Have you ever heard of Marzipan Almond Crescents? I mean the name says it all, but have you tried something like that? It’s awesome delicious! Really. If you had one, you want them all. That’s the reason I am making them not very often. Too dangerous :P
These delicious sandwich cookies with a nut nougat filling and caramelized almonds almost did not make it to the blog (on time). I was reaaaaaaally late for my recipe and blog post for the “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” event with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte. I was really close to publishing “plan B”… but fortunately, I managed to get everything done in time.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
