Ingredients

Scale
  • (8 small buns)
  • 1 tbsp. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water
  • 3 tsp. olive oil
  • 3 tsp. sugar
  • 1 small egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/22 cups (200g-260g) all-purpose flour
  • sesame seeds for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425˚F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet with baking parchment and set aside. Add dry yeast and water to a large bowl and mix until dissolved. Add sugar and oil and mix. Let stand for about 5 minutes.
  2. 2. Add egg, salt and about 1 1/2 cups of the flour – add more if the dough is too wet. Knead until you get a nice soft smooth dough for about 5 minutes (it’s best to do it with your hands). Cut into 8 equal pieces, form balls and place them on the baking sheet with enough space in between. Cover and let rest for about 15 minutes.
  3. 3. Brush the rolls with some water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in the oven for 10-12 Minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool down completely on a wire rack.
