Kohlrabi is quite popular in Germany, but it’s not growing here all year round. The season for Kohlrabi is through summer until October/November – the rest of the year you can still get it but from countries where it is a bit warmer all year round. My Kohlrabi Veggie Soup here has been waiting a while until being published here on the blog, to be honest. The soup in the pictures has actually been cooked last summer when I had Kohlrabi from our little terrace garden… ;)
Sometimes you are just not in the mood after a long day at work to spend even more time working in the kitchen to make dinner. What do I say… sometimes? I mean never! ;) For this reason, I love me some dinner like this one here – Roasted Cauliflower with Chickpeas. Conveniently made in the oven on one tray. Really easy to prepare and if you make a bit more you got leftovers you can use the next day. Sounds good, right?
Some of you out there probably have the same problem: one of the family does not like to eat fish and as a result, you are cooking fish only once every century ;P Well… that’s what is happening here. I love eating and cooking fishy dishes but I always have to make them for myself. Nobody else here would eat it. Even these delicious Salmon Bowls with Durum Wheat… only for me! In this case, I don’t mind. They are so easy to make and can be done for one person only quite quickly.
You probably have a similar experience – the internet is a great source of inspiration of any kind. Services like Pinterest are perfect to find cooking and baking recipes… apart from this blog of course ;P A few years ago I switched from cookbooks to the internet when looking for new recipes – long before this blog even existed. I stumbled across a lot of great and interesting things I eventually tried in the kitchen. This delicious Vegetable Spiral Tart is one of those internet treasures. I saw a picture of a tart like this and immediately knew – I have to try that one ;)
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
