What are your favorite Christmas Cookies? The classic ones? Here in Germany, the most common Christmas Cookies are probably Ausstecherle, Spitzbuben and Zimtsterne. Recipes for all of these Christmas Cookies can already be found on the blog, of course! This year, we decided to make a batch of new cookies: Orange Pecan Chocolate Cookies! They are really nice ones! They earned a spot on the »must bake list« for next Christmas and the ones in upcoming years!
I wanted to do something with candy eyes for quite some time. I had some leftovers from my Halloween Monster Cookies and I did not want them to go bad. You know – an open bag of eyes does not stay fresh for too long… juuuust kidding ;) A friend of mine was asking for funny Christmas cookies, so I made these Double Chocolate Speculoos Reindeer Cookies. That’s all ;)
These delicious sandwich cookies with a nut nougat filling and caramelized almonds almost did not make it to the blog (on time). I was reaaaaaaally late for my recipe and blog post for the “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” event with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte. I was really close to publishing “plan B”… but fortunately, I managed to get everything done in time.

Is Christmas around the corner for you or still light years away? Here in Germany, you can buy Christmas cookies since late August already. We don’t have a “Thanksgiving season” between summer and Christmas ;P The first time I heard “Last Christmas” from Wham! this year happened quite some time ago… a sign for you to get the Christmas presents ready ;)
For me personally, Christmas season started beginning of October. I met with some blogger colleagues on an event in Hamburg called “Lidl-Backstube”. Christmas songs were playing constantly, mulled wine and loads of Christmas cookies like my Macadamia White Chocolate Kisses. From that point on all was about Santa and the jolly time of the year ;)

Which Christmas cookies are your favorite cookies? Cinnamon stars? Vanilla crescents? Or maybe sandwich cookies? There are sooooo many to choose from! ;) I always have problems deciding what to take when offered a variety of Christmas cookies. Of course, I always take at least one of each (if nobody sees me). When it comes to Christmas cookies, I really like the ones with a filling a lot. Jam filling?! OMG. So good! I guess you know now, why I made these Raspberry Almond Thumbprint Cookies ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
