Eggnog/Eierlikör Fan or not? That is the question here ;) There is not much in between! Either you like it or you hate it. Me, myself and I are huge fans of it, that’s why we try to incorporate eggnog/Eierlikör wherever possible. For example in these delicious Eggnog/Eierlikör Cheesecakes for Easter. I think with these cheesecakes you can convince people to come to the yellow side of life (instead of the dark side, u know?) :P
For today’s Cookie Friday I got some cookies for you with eggnog – or better said the German version of it: Eierlikör! I guess not everybody’s darling, but I like it a lot! Around Easter definitely, something you can find in our house everywhere and all the time. If you try one of these Eggnog (Eierlikör) Snickerdoodles you will agree – they are the best! ;)
It’s a staple for Easter – similar to bunnies and Easter eggs. Classic German Eierlikör has been part of the Easter celebrations in our family as long as I live – for several hundred years, actually. ;P This creamy drink is often dismissed as old-fashioned, but we love it – especially for baking.
Eierlikör season definitely started here already! The weeks before Easter many blogs show recipes that use Eierlikör (eggnog) one way or another. My blog included ;) Right now basically every second recipe is made with this yellow super drink. For example this delicious Eierlikör Cheesecake with a tiny little whipped cream topping. Hmmmm…
I always look for new things to bake for Easter – this holiday is just perfect for everything baked. Better than Christmas :P For Easter you usually have the same (hopefully nice) people around you (like Christmas), there is a lot to eat, but (unlike Christmas) the weather is normally better, and you can go out to celebrate. That’s much better, right?! ;) This simple Eierlikör Gugelhupf (Bundt Cake) with Chocolate Glaze is one of my latest discovery for Easter. Great texture, fluffy and »moist« thanks to the Eierlikör. I know you don’t like the word »moist« but that’s just a fact ;P
I’m a big fan of eggnog. And Glühwein. And Punsch. And Feuerzangenbowle. Basically every alcoholic beverage you can get around Christmas :) But don’t worry – I’m not an alcoholic – it’s just nice to stand outside at a Christmas Market, the snow is falling and you have a (hot) beverage in your hands to warm your hands and stomach (and getting a bit tipsy) – isn’t it? :)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
