When summer starts you can find more and more berries from local sources on farmer’s markets. The shorter the way from the farm to the consumer the better, right? ;) Time to do something amazing with those fresh berries. As soon as the first berries are available from local farmers I love to make this Baked Rice Pudding with Berries. It’s a great dessert to show off the first berries of the season ;P Also an absolutely easy treat to prepare and all in all super delicious! It brings back childhood memories every time I make it! This rice pudding with a (tiny) mountain of whipped cream and fresh berries is not only very tasty, but it’s also a great option if you got guests coming over. Give everyone a spoon and let them dive in! ;P
When people think about Spanish cuisine, the first things that probably come to their minds are Paella, Tapas, and maybe Churros… but there is much more, of course! If you’re a fan of cheesecakes you will most definitely know about the Basque Cheesecake aka. San Sebastián Cheesecake. This super delicious and creamy cheesecake, with its very special dark (and partially burnt) crust, which also gives the cake its third name: Basque Burnt Cheesecake! My Basque Cheesecake with Blueberries & Raspberries didn’t turn out quite as »burnt«, but instead, the delicious berries bring it to a whole other level ;P
I think there are only a few cakes that seem to please everyone. A popular German cake called »Russischer Zupfkuchen« aka. Chocolate Cheesecake is definitely one of those cakes. I never met anyone (personally) who did not like this cake. What can I say – I love it too because it’s so damn delicious! Creamy, chocolaty, absolutely great! Today, I made a version of this cake that is a bit different – a Chocolate Cheesecake with Raspberries and little chocolate hearts on top. Great for Mother’s Day… don’t you think? ;)
Simple and easy cookie recipes are the best! You prepare a simple dough, bake the little fellas in the oven for only a few minutes, and then you got a sweet treat to munch on. The perfect snack for the next coffee break or as dessert after lunch and dinner. Can it get any better? Well… these Sour Cream Raspberry Funfetti Cookies are easy-peasy to prepare and also look nice, right? I love them ;)
Several weeks ago I had somewhat of a »choux pastry phase« where this cute little Choux Pastry Hearts with Raspberry Whipped Cream came to life ;) They were originally not intended to be for Valentine’s Day, but they fit perfectly for that type of »holiday«, right? Well… actually for any other day of the year. I would love to get one of these 365 days of the year. I would gain a lot of weight, but I would be happy. Unfortunately/Fortunately, this is not gonna happen because there is nobody here that would bake them for me each day ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
