Whenever you are in need of a quick sweet treat or snack for guests, there are many ways to make something at home. Cakes, cupcakes, or cookies – there is a lot that’s easy to prepare. If you like things particularly simple, you should try Vanilla Custard Pastries. Puff pastry dough from the supermarket is a quick and easy way to create something delicious!
This treat here has a few different names. Some call them »Palmiers« or »Prussiens«, others call them »Pig’s ears«. I normally just call these sweet little treats Puff Pastry Hearts or Valentine’s Heart Palmiers. I think that the name pig’s ears is not really hitting the mark. They don’t look like ears at all. Neither animal nor human ears. ;P
When it’s time for a movie night or game night, you always need something to snack on, right? Chips and other snacks from the supermarket are probably the easiest way to keep a crowd happy… or you could order some pizzas. Actually a good idea most of the time. However, if you got some time to prepare something, I would recommend making some Pigs in a blanket like these here. They are easy to make and sooo good. I love them, and they are the perfect finger food/snack for a nice evening at home ;)

Our topic today is something that fits perfectly for the “5th Season” – a term we use here in Germany for Karneval aka. Carnival or Mardi Gras. Today is all about finger food! Simple and easy snack for a party like these Easy (Pork) Sausage Rolls made with puff pastry dough. (Almost) Everyone loves them! (if you are vegetarian or vegan – the recipe can be adapted easily) ;)

If you have some puff pastry in your fridge, some cream cheese, and an apple you can make these delicious Apple Cheesecake Turnovers in no time. Quick and easy recipe and pretty darn delicious I might add ;) Perfect for your cup of coffee or tea in the afternoon. No need to bake a cake for 10 people if you want a small snack only ;P

They are ready in no time and very easy to prepare. Skip the mini pizzas from the freezer – they are boring anyway. If you serve these little savory rolls, everybody will think you put in a lot of effort… but no. Nobody will know how easy they are to make ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
