Everyone deserves a little cake for his birthday, right? This little blog made it to its 4th “birthday” this week and also deserves a little birthday cake ;) Let’s celebrate with a little Banana Split inspired Layer Cake. Shall we?! It is definitely a nice cake for a celebration and for sure a little showstopper with that decorations and cherries on top :P

June is almost over already, which means Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte and I have our next topic picked out and each of us has been baking something. This month it was all about bananananana! It is Friday and you know what this means: Cookie Friday! Yay! Lately I have been asked a lot, if I could bake things that are healthier. Of course I can, but most of the time I don’t want to :P
Today’s cookies are made without flour or refined sugar. I guess you could say these cookies with banana, almonds, and walnuts are kind of healthy. You can see… I can bake the “better” stuff… if I want to :P

Well – you don’t need real coconuts to make this Coconut Banana Cream Pie, canned coconut milk is fine here. No need to go to the garden and climb the next coconut tree :P
Baking with bananas can be tricky if you have people around you, that are allergic to bananas. Not really allergic by means of getting sick because of them. It’s more like getting reactions like “eeew” and “uagh”… yes Tobi, I am talking about you ;)
I don’t understand it. I love bananas and everything you can make with them. Best example: these Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies. So banananagood ;)

I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
