If there’s one dish from Spain we love to do over and over again, it’s Croquetas de Jamón. These little delights are delicious and a family favorite. All of our friends love them too, of course ;) They take some time to prepare, but the effort is 1000% worth putting in… if not more ;P
Spanish cuisine has all kinds of tasty treats on offer. To be honest, almost too many to be able to try everything once ;) If I had to highlight something, it’s a delicious Tortilla de Patatas – one of my favorite Spanish dishes. It’s a very simple one, but when prepared correctly, it’s an absolute treat!
I guess you could say this is the equivalent of roasted peanuts in American Sports Bars: Easy Peasy Smoked Almonds (Almendras Fritas). Very popular in Spanish bars and restaurants ;) We love them so much here.
Some things are super simple and super tasty at the same time. For me, Pimientos de Padrón is one of those things. They are one of my top 3 favorite tapas. I say that about pretty much every tapas dish, but here, for once, it’s 100% true. Maybe it’s even the top 2? The first place is definitely taken.. I can tell you what it is later. ;P
This tapa is something you should have at home all the time! :)
You might think “Oh that looks like french fries with ketchup and mayonnaise!” – well, it’s not! ;P The “patatas” may look like a rustic version of french fries, but the sauce definitely makes the difference here. No super-sweet ketchup. This tomato sauce packs a punch! Of course, only if you want to, but you should go all the way. It will taste much better when the sauce is hot ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
