We never really celebrate Halloween here at home, with dressing up and all, but when it comes to spooky-funny snacks, we’re happy to join in! These Jack Skellington Thumbprint Cookies are super easy to make and perfect for Halloween – with or without a Halloween party. Since the cookies are only slightly spooky, they’re also great for kids. These cookies won’t give anyone nightmares… ;)
In Germany, almost everyone will have memories about gingerbread houses – many families love baking and decorating them with kids for Christmas. At least when I was a kid. ;) I don’t think this is the same for »Book Nooks«. Not everyone will know immediately what you mean by that or they might think of something completely different. Germany is not the place for Halloween and everything connected to it. Some celebrate it with parties but the good old »trick or treat«, that is common in the US, is pretty much non-existent here. I am not really that much into Halloween parties either, but I absolutely love to bake spooky stuff ;P These little Halloween Ghost PB&J Chocolate Sandwich Cookies might not be super spooky but definitely something cute you can bake as a snack for Halloween.
A lot of people like to decorate their homes for Halloween. And whose fault is it? The Americans ;P Even though I like Halloween – there are no decorations happening in our house. Maybe a pumpkin on the terrace. That’s all. But I like to bake spooky and tasty stuff for Halloween ;) Something like these delicious Black ‘n’ White Halloween Cookies…
As far as baking goes, I’m a huge Halloween nerd. I just love spilling berry juice all over the place for this “holiday” so everything looks like it’s been smeared with blood. I’m not a fan of Halloween parties, I don’t like dressing up for Halloween and horror movies aren’t really my thing either…. but fake “blood” everywhere me likey like! Is that weird? ;P
Happy Halloween! Oh well… it’s probably not even Halloween yet if you ended up here looking for something bloody to bake ;) People normally do that days in advance. Looking for something to serve at a Halloween party. Well, if you like spooky stuff you are in the right place. These (Halloween) Intestines Cinnamon Rolls will make people say “oohh” or “aaah”. I’m pretty sure! And not only because this bake looks creepy, but also because the cinnamon rolls are super yummy ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
