When it comes to baking, I like “unusual” pairings of flavor. Sweet stuff and bacon – works perfect for me – for many others not so much I heard ;)

I have to be honest with you – as a kid I was not a big fan of goat cheese. Nope – just did not work for me.
Guess everybody has one or more dishes, vegetables or foods in general he/she did not like as a kid. It often changes over the years – sometimes not ;) There are not many things I do not eat, but a good example are brussels sprouts in my case – I hated them as a kid from the bottom of my heart. Really. My mom forced me to eat at least one every time she made them. Unfortunately she liked them a lot and made them often – felt like every second day to me… ;) Well – today I love them too! I could eat them every second day! Really ;)
Do you like cheese? Some do, some don’t and some can’t (sorry for those people)!
If you don’t like cheese, you should better skip this and try some other recipe (how did you end up here anyways???). Today’s little cheese lesson is about Reblochon [ʁə.blɔ.ʃɔ̃] de Savoie – a soft cheese from the French Alps – mais bien sûr!
Quiches and tarts with onions are quite common in the area I am coming from (the south of Germany) – especially in fall. There are even street fairs dedicated to onions and everything you can make with them around that time. It’s kind of weird that some villages turn into places where everything is decorated with onions and where it smells like onion quiche all the time ;) Well… not complaining here! I love onion quiche – especially when it comes with bacon and cheese like this one here!
You probably have a similar experience – the internet is a great source of inspiration of any kind. Services like Pinterest are perfect to find cooking and baking recipes… apart from this blog of course ;P A few years ago I switched from cookbooks to the internet when looking for new recipes – long before this blog even existed. I stumbled across a lot of great and interesting things I eventually tried in the kitchen. This delicious Vegetable Spiral Tart is one of those internet treasures. I saw a picture of a tart like this and immediately knew – I have to try that one ;)
