If you got a sweet tooth it’s a good idea to have something sweet at home all the time… just in case ;P If you are a fan of white chocolate and Toffifee (that caramel and chocolate candy with a hazelnut inside) you might want to try these Mini Brownie Bites with White Chocolate Toffifee. Very long name for such a small snack, I know ;P These fellas are as quickly baked as they are eaten afterward… at least in our house. You better watch out!
When it’s warm and sunny outside, you want to spend as much time as possible outdoors. Right? We often go to public parks in summer (because we don’t have a garden) – fortunately, we got a nice park right in front of our door. So what’s important when going out to a park – besides taking the obvious after-work beer? Some snacks, of course! Something delicious like these Spanakopita Triangles with Minced Meat, Spinach & Feta. You can prepare them easily in advance and take them anywhere – work, a train ride or to the park ;)
When it’s sunny and warm outside in summer and the kitchen is warm/hot as well – no one likes to spend more time than necessary inside that kitchen. A hot oven heating up the kitchen even more? No way! ;P So working with minimal heat or being able to cook/bake outside is the best in my opinion. This Corn Salsa with Tortilla Chips is a great option if you want to work only with a hot pan or your BBQ grill outside. Great side for grilled meat or veggies, as well as a nice snack for a movie night with friends. ;)
Donuts are nice – you can’t deny that. Airy, fluffy, sweet, and greasy… the perfect combination for a sweet snack, right? If only making them at home could work without frying and those smells in the kitchen. For this reason, we don’t make delicious Boston Cream Donuts like these here not that often at home. Only for special occasions once in every blue moon. Or maybe I should get a proper deep-fryer you can seal off completely? ;)
The moment the first warm rays of sunshine hit Berlin at the beginning of summer you know it’s time for rhubarb to make a comeback ;) The red-green stalks pop up everywhere – waiting for you to do something with them. The first thing that might come up, in that case, is baking a cake with rhubarb. Obvious. But how about making some Homemade Rhubarb Curd and doing something with that to celebrate rhubarb season? I think brownies are a popular sweet treat all over the world. Lovely chocolate flavor and a great texture (if the brownies are baked properly)… simply delicious! If only you could avoid those dirty fingers every time you grab a brownie ;) I know there are forks you could use, but who does that?! The easiest solution for this “problem” are probably these Brownies on Sticks (with Oreos). Brownies that can be eaten like popsicles. No chance to get dirty fingers. All clean. All day ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
