Simple loaf cakes are our go-to bakes when we need something quick on the table. They are easy to make and usually really delicious. If you like something simple but still special, you should try our Lemon Loaf Cake with Preserved Lemons. It’s a slightly different version of the classic lemon cake you might know. You don’t often get served such a special cake! ;)
We love cooking and eating dishes from all corners of the world. Of course, everyone has preferences here and there… we’re particularly fond of Asian and Arabic cuisine. Using preserved lemons is not particularly common in German cuisine. Whenever a chef wants to experiment a little, they might use Preserved Lemons aka. Salt Lemons, but they are not commonly used in our part of the world. In Morocco and some other national cuisines, however, the situation is quite different… ;)
Cake is a must-have for an afternoon coffee party. No doubt about it. Without something sweet, the coffee date would only be half as good. In the UK, coffee is usually replaced by tea and cake is often swapped for small finger sandwiches and scones – something like these Easy Lemon Buttermilk Scones. Even though I prefer coffee to tea, I really like simple scones (with my coffee)… so good! ;)
A birthday without cake is only half as good, right? You don’t need an elaborate seven layer cake with buttercream – a delicious Lemonade Pound Cake with a few colorful sprinkles on top is all you need. Simple and easy. The cake tastes excellent and does not require a lot of effort to prepare. What more could you want? A few presents, of course… ;P
Simple loaf cakes are always in fashion around here. Why investing more time and effort than necessary in order to have something delicious on the table? This simple Lemon Pistachio Pandan Cake is no exception here. The batter is coming together in no time at all, then you throw everything into a baking tin and bake it. Letting the cake cool down later before cutting it takes longer than the whole preparation ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
