This treat here has a few different names. Some call them »Palmiers« or »Prussiens«, others call them »Pig’s ears«. I normally just call these sweet little treats Puff Pastry Hearts or Valentine’s Heart Palmiers. I think that the name pig’s ears is not really hitting the mark. They don’t look like ears at all. Neither animal nor human ears. ;P
It doesn’t take much to make someone happy. We think these Mini Ladyfingers Tiramisu Cakes are just perfect for moments like that. Uncomplicated and easy to prepare and really delicious – what more could you want? These little treats are definitely a good idea for everyone that likes tiramisu. We immediately fell in love with these little desserts!
A little surprise for Valentine’s Day never hurts, right?! There is no need for store-bought flowers or chocolates – a few simple Heart Sandwich Cookies are all you need. Of course, these cookies are a little more time-consuming to make compared to buying something quickly in a shop, but they are also baked with an extra dose of love. What more could a loved one want from a gift? ;)
I’m a big fan of everything chocolate. If you take a look at many of my recipes here you know… so getting a delicious (heart-shaped) Flourless Chocolate Cake like this one here would be simply awesome for me. Heart-shaped or not – I would love to get a cake like that one day. Unfortunately, nobody bakes for me. I don’t know it’s because I am a baker or because people don’t like me. I hope it’s because I bake a lot myself ;P
This Heart Strawberry Cheesecake is a type of German »Käsesahnetorte« and one of many classic cakes in Germany that is loved and hated at the same time ;P Back in the day, when I was young, this type of cake was the »hot shit« everybody loved. There was no family gathering without one of these (or something very similar) on the table. Nowadays, you see cakes like that a little less often and some say they are »old-fashioned«… like cakes you would only serve grandma and grandpa. I think it’s time for an »cake intervention«! ;P Let’s make these cakes great again! Who’s in?! Probably only people 45 and older ;)
Several weeks ago I had somewhat of a »choux pastry phase« where this cute little Choux Pastry Hearts with Raspberry Whipped Cream came to life ;) They were originally not intended to be for Valentine’s Day, but they fit perfectly for that type of »holiday«, right? Well… actually for any other day of the year. I would love to get one of these 365 days of the year. I would gain a lot of weight, but I would be happy. Unfortunately/Fortunately, this is not gonna happen because there is nobody here that would bake them for me each day ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
