Anyone who has ever tasted Dulce de leche will agree that it’s perfect for filling sandwich cookies. The best example here, are Alfajores with Dulce de leche. Perfection in miniature. We love the caramel cream together with the crumbly cookie – it’s such a nice and sweet treat! In case you never tried… it’s about time! ;)
This treat here has a few different names. Some call them »Palmiers« or »Prussiens«, others call them »Pig’s ears«. I normally just call these sweet little treats Puff Pastry Hearts or Valentine’s Heart Palmiers. I think that the name pig’s ears is not really hitting the mark. They don’t look like ears at all. Neither animal nor human ears. ;P
It doesn’t take much to make someone happy. We think these Mini Ladyfingers Tiramisu Cakes are just perfect for moments like that. Uncomplicated and easy to prepare and really delicious – what more could you want? These little treats are definitely a good idea for everyone that likes tiramisu. We immediately fell in love with these little desserts!
A little surprise for Valentine’s Day never hurts, right?! There is no need for store-bought flowers or chocolates – a few simple Heart Sandwich Cookies are all you need. Of course, these cookies are a little more time-consuming to make compared to buying something quickly in a shop, but they are also baked with an extra dose of love. What more could a loved one want from a gift? ;)
A famous Swiss TV ad makes it very clear – be very careful when claiming that you invented something. If it’s a Swiss invention, you might get into trouble when saying it was your idea. ;P So in all transparency and honesty – I did not invent these Swiss Nut Cookies aka. Schweizer Nusstaler. Nope. Wasn’t me. I just made them, because they are so delicious! I adapted the recipe slightly, but I did not invent them. I don’t want anyone from Switzerland jumping at me from behind screaming »Wer hat’s erfunden?!« ;P
The world is weird sometimes. Social media got quite powerful in the past few years – so powerful it can cause food shortages. Not life-threatening food shortages, but in the case of Dubai Chocolate, there was a shortage of pistachio cream and Kadayif pastry threads all over Germany in the last several months. ;P The ingredients for these Dubai Chocolate Pralines were not available for quite some time, but a few days ago I finally got everything I needed to make these delicious chocolates.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
