Cake is a must-have for an afternoon coffee party. No doubt about it. Without something sweet, the coffee date would only be half as good. In the UK, coffee is usually replaced by tea and cake is often swapped for small finger sandwiches and scones – something like these Easy Lemon Buttermilk Scones. Even though I prefer coffee to tea, I really like simple scones (with my coffee)… so good! ;)
I’m a big fan of scones. These little pastries are quick and easy to prepare and can be made with so many different ingredients – chocolate, nuts, berries… These Cherry Marzipan Scones are made with – you guessed it already – fresh cherries and marzipan :P An extremely tasty combination I like a lot… you should definitely try!
Scones are absolute classics in the UK. Here in Germany, those small, crumbly treats have still not really caught on. It’s a shame – I really like scones. For me, delicious Blackberry Scones like these here are among the easiest and most uncomplicated pastries you can make at home. You just have to love them ;)
I am a big fan of scones. Served with some jam and clotted cream a real treat. Unfortunately, clotted cream is extremely rare to find here in Germany. That’s why I love scones that don’t need cream, jam, or anything else added. Scones that are good to eat as they are ;) Delicious little fellas like these Chocolate Walnut Scones. You can have a coffee on the side, of course, but nothing else is needed. A perfect snack/dessert you can take anywhere ;)
Summer is always a great time for baking. You have a wide variety of fruits and berries to choose from, and everything you bake with those fruits/berries automatically tastes great ;) These Nectarine & Orange Scones are the perfect example here – delicious summer scones. I don’t want to be the one telling you »I told you so…« – a new lockdown has just recently been announced for Germany… the social distancing rules getting more strict, some people started hoarding toilet paper again… let’s hope that flour and yeast are not disappearing this time or I will go crazy for sure. ;P
Well… just in case you need to stay home and want to bake again – I got a new recipe with bananas for you. Banana bread was very popular the first time, why not try something new? How about some Banana Bread Scones? Equally delicious and easy to prepare ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
