It’s time for Christmas cookies – you probably started already baking your regular batches of Christmas cookies, right? Like we all do… to switch up things from time to time I like to adapt recipes here and there so I do not make the same stuff all the time ;) That’s why I have a vegan recipe today – my “veganized” classic Vanilla Crescents – which turned out pretty damn good I have to say ;))
All Souls’ Day is not a public holiday here in Germany (well – it is a holiday, but you still have to work). In the south, the day before is a public holiday (All Saints’ Day). Anyway. Not sure how it is in other countries – many started celebrating Halloween on the 31st and that day got muuuuch bigger over the years than All Saints’ Day or All Souls’ Day together ;) In Mexico the 2nd of November is a big celebration even though it is not named All Souls’ Day – they call it “Día de los Muertos” aka. “The day of the dead”. And as you probably noticed already – I am celebrating that day this year with some special Day of the Dead Cookies… a day early though :P
During the strawberry season, we basically have fresh strawberries at home each day. Well, almost every day ;) On my way to work or back home I always pass by one of those little carts where they sell fresh strawberries from the fields. Normally at least one little strawberry basket ends up in my bag because everybody at home loves strawberries – even our French Bulldog Bruno! Well… this Strawberry Tart is definitely not for him. It’s just for us humans in the house :P
Once again… it’s “Bake Together” time! Every last Sunday of the month Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte and I are doing our little baking event called “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” and this months topic can be described as “let’s do something with strawberries and maybe pudding?!” – yeah! ;) Well… good choice! So today I got a new recipe for you with strawberries and pudding aka. Danish with Vanilla Custard and Strawberries. So good!
It is time to celebrate! Our little monthly blog event “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” just got three years old! Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte and I are celebrating this little milestone with birthday/celebration cakes on our blogs – and you can celebrate with us! Well… not physically, but virtually ;)
It‘s Cookie Friday and I got another „not so classic“ cookie recipe for you. I really love to experiment with different flavors, ingredients, and shapes. So sometimes the cookies may look a bit different compared to a classic cookie most people probably have in mind when somebody tells them „I got cookies!“ ;) Today’s cookies are made with cottage cheese and have a slightly different shape. Told you… not your good old chocolate chip cookie ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
