It’s time again for a new “Bake Together – The baking surprise”! The month is almost over, which means Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte and I have once again picked out a topic for our #BakeTogether and worked in the kitchen. You can see the result here – a delicious Mirabelle Filo Tarte. So good and refreshing on a hot summer day ;)
Summer is the season for fresh fruits and berries. If you can get all that fresh from the farmer’s market it’s a must to make something with it, right?! ;) Right now we’re in plum season – this means, of course, you got to bake something with plums. Normally, we would make a big tray of plum streusel cake to celebrate plums and the start of the season but this year decided to bake something different. A delicious Damson Plum Poppy Seed (Streusel) Cheesecake. A great combination in my opinion. Isn’t it? ;)
Is breakfast always the same in your house? Why not switching things up sometimes? Instead of regular “old” slices of bread or scrambled eggs – why not making a Dutch Baby with Plum Compote? It’s so easy to prepare and soooo good! I bet if you do it once, you will (want and have to) do it much more often… that’s the Dutch Baby effect ;P
Plums are everywhere in autumn. Unfortunately, the season is slowly coming to an end… so in case you still find some small colorful plums, you should get them and definitely make something with them. This delicious Mixed Plum Galette, for example ;) It’s super easy to prepare and ready in no time. With some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream… a dessert dream come true ;P
The end of the month is almost here. That means it’s time for another “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte. This month is all about “autumn pies”. I mean autumn is here. Seems quite logic to make pies that are fall themed, right? ;P The chances we gonna take the same route are quite slim this time I guess. There are so many pies you can make… so I am really excited to see what Andrea did this time. I decided to bake this veeeery delicious Damson Plum Pie here. If you like damson plums and simple cakes like a Plum Tray Bake you probably love this pie here ;)
There are not many recipes with fish here on the blog so far. Not really surprising since this is/was mostly a baking blog for sweet treats up until last year. Things are slowly changing, so you will definitely find more savory dishes here on the blog nowadays and these Tacos with Salmon, plums, and avocado are probably not the last fish dish you will see here. This finger food/snack is so delicious – there was no way not to share them with you all ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
