It’s the end of the month again and you know what this means… It is time for another round of “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise”! Yay! I love this little monthly event with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte ;) This month we decided to bake something with oranges – and as you can see, I made this gorgeous and delicious orange tart with caramelized oranges and a tiny little hint of whipped cream :P So good!
What are your favorite Christmas Cookies? The classic ones? Here in Germany, the most common Christmas Cookies are probably Ausstecherle, Spitzbuben and Zimtsterne. Recipes for all of these Christmas Cookies can already be found on the blog, of course! This year, we decided to make a batch of new cookies: Orange Pecan Chocolate Cookies! They are really nice ones! They earned a spot on the »must bake list« for next Christmas and the ones in upcoming years!
Citrus fruits and cheesecake go so well together, you know that, right? ;) This one does not only have one type of citrus fruits inside, but three! In design you normally say – less is more – but here…?! More is more! Is better! :P
Many of you out there probably feel the same (unless you live somewhere in the south) – it’s early February, and you’re already in the mood for vacation. Once again ;) When spring is still 200 years away and everything is still cold and wet outside, you want to go somewhere far away. To places where it’s sunny and hopefully warm. At least that’s how I feel. Unfortunately, you don’t always have the opportunity to go on vacation when you want. In cases like that a delicious cake like this Tarta de Santiago aka. Spanish Almond Cake is just perfect. This fluffy cake brings sun and warmth to the table ;)
These scones with a hot chocolate or tea, when it’s cold outside – hard to beat. Too bad they are all gone already, cause it just started snowing again outside :P
There are some things out there I thought I would never have make myself – candied fruits for example. I always thought if you need something like that you can get it in a supermarket or one of those fancy sweets shops… well I was wrong :P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
