Done with Christmas? Yes? No?
Well – I am done. Or let’s say almost ;) I was baking a lot this season, the kitchen was overflowing with christmas cookies. Most of them are gone – eaten by hungry monsters I call “friends and family” ;) But as usual there some leftover and instead of letting them go bad and throw them at some point, I decided to do something different this year. X-MAS COMPOST COOKIES!

Back to Christmas cookies! I have given some other sweet treats a chance to make it on the coffee table but today on the third Advent Sunday we have to go back to the basics – good old-fashioned Christmas cookies ;)
Thumbprint cookies are pretty easy to make – form little balls of the size of a cherry or walnut and give them your thumbprint on top to make room for a filling – that is basically it ;) READ MORE
Christmas stollen are an essential part of the Advent season here in Germany. Not everybody likes these sweet and heavy bakes though – but to be honest – you can’t please everybody ;) I love Christstollen a lot. So much I love to share it with others. And with these Christmas Stollen baked in Glass Jars, it is much easier to bring them as a gift to a Christmas party. An easy peasy homemade gift that beats every storebought bottle of mulled wine easily ;P
This year I wanted to make macarons in addition to my usual christmas cookies. I like macarons a lot – the making can be difficult, because those little bitches can cause a lot of trouble… but the result is plain delicious at the end (even though some of the macarons might look less perfect).
Hi folks! As you can see I’m still in Christmas Baking Mood! But for a change no cookies! Let’s go back to the other good stuff: Cupcakes! :)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
