If you like cheesecakes, you certainly have tried a Basque Cheesecake, right? Super creamy, quick to prepare and simply marvelous! These cheesecakes are typically served »naked« – means without anything added. Well… this Basque Cheesecake with Apple Compote is the exception to that rule. Loads of apple compote on top. We love it here. It’s a great addition to an already fantastic cheesecake ;)
Apples are available all year round, which is why cakes with apples are also in season all year round. This delicious German Apple Cake (with Quark-Oil-Dough) is a cake we like to bake over and over again, because it’s such a quick and easy bake. And really tasty, of course. That’s actually always reason number one! ;P
Apple cake is a delicious treat, isn’t it? Whenever a few streusels come into play, that apple cake gets even better! Just like Grandma used to bake her cakes. This delicious German Apple Sauce Streusel Cake is made with tons of apples. It’s impossible to add more. I can only recommend trying this cake and recipe. So good! ;P
There are classics you make over and over again. This Brioche & Apple Casserole (aka. Ofenschlupfer) belongs in this category for me. Even though we make it over and over again, the recipe is being adapted from time to time. Instead of the usual stale bread rolls, I used brioche this time. The texture is a bit different, but I think it tastes even better than the original version ;P
There is a lot you can do with apples. Purists simply bite into an apple and enjoy the fruit as it is. I do that from time to time too, but I actually prefer to use apples in cakes and other desserts. How about a delicious Apple Pie Tiramisu, for example? Sounds good, doesn’t it? This dessert is an absolute favorite of ours, and every time it’s placed on the table after a delicious dinner… it’s the crowning glory! ;)
When autumn is slowly taking over, it’s finally time for apple recipes again. You can bake delicious treats with apples all year round, of course, but autumn is the time to harvest apples and use them in as many bakes as possible ;P One of my favorite recipes to start the apple season, is this delicious Apple Frangipane Tart. It does not only look stunning, it’s also extremely delicious! So good!
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
