Do you know “Hocus Pocus”? The movie from the 90s? It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. Bette Midler was just terrific as Winifred Sanderson ;) Finally, after almost 30 years of waiting a second movie with the Sanderson sisters will be released soon. To celebrate this special day I made some delicious Hocus Pocus (Spell Book) Brownies. Delicious fudgy brownies packed with chocolate and walnuts and a special “look & feel” ;)
Brownies are the perfect sweet treat for many people out there. Packed with chocolate and sugar it’s hard to resist – I have to be honest ;) Today I got a recipe that works without plant-based ingredients only. Very simple Vegan Brownies. Even though the brownies are vegan – do not mistake them for being “healthy” just because they are vegan. The absence of dairy products or eggs does not mean there is not a lot of fat and carbs involved. Be aware of that ;P
When the cherry season starts with locally grown cherries at the markets there is only one way to celebrate this event: baking some Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies with Cherries. Loads of chocolate, a creamy cheesecake mixture plus some fresh cherries – a brilliant combination! Add a little dollop of whipped cream on top and you will not hear a word from me for about 10 minutes – well and probably half of the brownies will be gone… but that only happens if you leave me alone ;P
Cake pops and I have never really been big friends – at least when I have to make them myself. I actually really like them. Eating them and looking at them. Delicious cake balls covered in chocolate and decorated beautifully – who doesn’t like that?! ;) But after my very first attempt making them a few years ago, I had to realize that there is a lot that can go wrong with these little cakes on sticks. These Brownie Reindeer Cake Pops are not without flaw… but really damn tasty :P
January and February are generally colder winter months in Germany. This year February hit us hard with a lot of snow and very low temperatures. Sub-zero temperatures all day and night. My mind and body are constantly requesting soul food/comfort food and loads of calories. To get through winter I recommend making these Mini Brownie Chocolate Mousse Trifles from time to time. Chocolate for lifting the mood and the calories for your hips and belly ;P

You can shove them into your face as a snack between meals, or you can use them, for example, as an ingredient for cookies and other bakes like these brownies here. Doesn’t sound so bad, right? ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
