I don’t know how you feel about walnuts or pecans, but for me they are THE BEST nuts out there ;) I love the flavors and the many ways you can use them for baking and cooking, sweet or savory. So good! They have to be good quality nuts though. Old walnuts are like old farts… awful ;P
Well. I’m not here to lecture you about nuts. Today it’s all about cookies… with walnuts, ok ;)
It is Friday and you know what this means: Cookie Friday! Yay! Lately I have been asked a lot, if I could bake things that are healthier. Of course I can, but most of the time I don’t want to :P
Today’s cookies are made without flour or refined sugar. I guess you could say these cookies with banana, almonds, and walnuts are kind of healthy. You can see… I can bake the “better” stuff… if I want to :P
It’s been some time since I posted a vegan recipe here. A very long time actually. ;) Well, today’s cookies are completely vegan, egg-free, dairy-free and even free of white sugar. I know, it’s a lot of “free”, but the flavors are definitely there. These Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies are delicious!
What are you normally doing for Easter? An Easter egg hunt? We don’t do that anymore here, but on Easter Sunday we normally have a nice breakfast or brunch with loads of food. Homemade bread, salad, warm dishes and of course cake. There is one that has to be on the table for Easter: Carrot Cake!

Last week was a bit crazy – Cookie Friday had to be cancelled here and move to Facebook – finally things are more or less back to normal and I can show you again some nice cookies. Well – to be honest – they are the same I wanted to post last week. Thought you should be able to get the recipe properly as usual. So today we have Maple Walnut Oatmeal Cookies!
Today’s recipe is something savory for a change. Haven’t made anything like that for quite some time. Not because I don’t like it – not at all! I mean – who can resist such a beautiful tart with potatoes, pears and blue cheese?! Nobody! ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
